Handsome khaki-orange surfaces are originally and uncommonly well preserved in a Choice EF Type I twenty. Outwardly our coin shows smooth in virtually all areas, with plenty of bold to sharp definition remaining. This is a popular date and grade combination from the final year of Type I double eagle coinage.
Our coin is an excellent example of a
Type 1 NM variety.
Liberty Double Eagle Type 1 gold is typically scarce and downright rare, especially a CAC 1865 S coin and 155 years old.
Ours is a pleasing, totally original, fully lustrous example, with poignant, rich golden color and obviously with its fully original coin skin.
