    Description

1866-S Motto AU50 PCGS  Double Eagle Liberty Coronet
Tough date.  Low pop.  Great investment!  Very nice color and details.  Lustrous, eye clean with great eye appeal. No dark spots, no deep scratches.  Presents itself much better than how I captured it in photo above!  I cherry-pick my coins.
Book price (as of listing) is 00.  Next grade jumps to 00!
Book price info was derived at time of listing.  I
n my opinion, the prices on the price guides are not exactly in touch with reality and market value, since how can you have some lower graded coins priced lower than spot and to think there are costs involved on having the coins slabbed and graded.  Plus there is numismatic and rarity value to these coins.  One dealer summed it up by saying, "Go buy from the book!"

Gold is a proven hedge against inflation.  These graded coins are the better, if not the best, option to invest in gold.  These historical rare coins make a good collection too.  Own a piece of history.  These coins are over 100 years old and will just get more and more valuable in time.  Each day, even the raw or lower grade Liberty coins are now distancing its value from spot gold price.
A gold coin will beat a gold bullion anytime ~ has rarity, historical and collectible value, that increases over time.  It has more appreciation value.
A graded slabbed gold coin will beat a raw gold coin anytime ~ insures authenticity, preserves its condition, and distinguish from any unknown/poor state of a coin.
A PCGS certification will beat another grading anytime ~ most widely accepted and known for having the strictest grading standard.
