🇺🇸***************************🇺🇸RCA Victor - 45X2 Little Nipper Radio
STORY:
This radio is out of my Personal Collection.
CONDITION
: Unfortunately, this desirable radio was dropped and the Bakelite cabinet shattered as shown in the picture. You can see that the pieces at least fit together well enough to make the radio presentable, but not thinking properly, I used the wrong kind of glue (hot glue). NOT good for a tiny 5 tube radio. Fortunately fairly low level heat will release the pieces for perhaps an epoxy resin application. The ideal situation of course is having or obtaining an undamaged cabinet.
So if you have a pretty nice cabinet with a non-working or rough chassis; you should look into this and consider it.
I can and perhaps should send the chassis alone if you are someone with a good cabinet. It should save a bit on the shipping expense. Control knobs are included.
ENGINEERING:
From a period RCA advertisement:
Let your RCA Victor dealer show you the Little Nipper radios - you'll find they have such star features as * 5 RCA Victor Tubes * Powerful Superheterodyne Circuit * Electro-Dynamic Speaker * AC or DC operation * Built-in Antenna * Automatic Volume Control.
CONDITIONS OF SALE:
Essentially, I am selling a restored as-needed chassis that worked great every time I've ever used it, but officially is just a parts buy with no direct statement that it works.
Unfortunately, I have found that this wording is the only safe way to state a sale description. Especially with vintage electronics. There simply are too many variables, along with too many unrealistic expectations of items like this that far exceed what should be expected from 70 year old equipment. I'm sorry to seem a bit dry in this area, but after handling, packing materials and other overhead expenses; independent sellers like myself cannot afford to absorb losses due to frivilous returns.Eessentially this is an online flea market. An understanding of that should be considered in any purchase one makes online. Most anything in the electronics realm most particularly is a gamble. Trust me I know!! Much of what I sell was bought right here when I was just a purchasing customer. I just took the good with the bad except in the case of shipping damage. Most of what I bought required some degree of, if not total restoration.
Returns:
Adequate photos have been supplied, and I will answer any additional questions before purchase. I will send more photos upon request. I will help any way I can. But I cannot absorb unnecessary losses. Especially when good, honest, trade is what I offer.
As always thank you so much for your kind consideration!!
