    This auction is for 37 qty. 37 ED Beta video cassettes
    While with this auction you are purchasing the tapes for use as blanks, the tapes already have some interesting Japanese-sourced content on them. In particular, many  contain American/European films with Japanese subs or a dual language audio track. Some tapes contain J
    apanese documentaries. Nearly all the tapes have the original Japanese commercials present. Two of the tapes were originally ED Beta demonstration tapes but the content was overwritten with other shows. Best of all, the recordings appear to almost all came from BS satellite broadcasts which, as part of the Japanese IDTV initiative, were superior in quality to nearly any other form of international broadcasting (short of HDTV). Some of the movies are extremely rare, such as "The Howling III," a 1987 Australian film which never received an NTSC home release until many years after these tapes were recorded. This tape collection is great for any Betamax collector, commercial collector, or anyone with an ED Beta deck that wants to watch some classic Japanese TV!
    Note these ED Beta tapes will
    ONLY
    play on ED Beta machines like the EDV-9500, EDV-7500, EDV-9000, EDV-8000, EDV-6000, & EDV-5000.

    ! I've played each tape for at least a minute and found the recordings to be clear and well recorded. The deck(s) that recorded them was high-quality and well aligned. Tape lengths may not match the original tape boxes they're in.

    The tapes show that they were very well taken care of, with most having detailed labels, recording date, and a companion label with additional details. A couple of the tapes were ED Beta Demonstration tapes with one having a label that was written over while the other has the edge label removed with no information.
