    Description

Made circa 1924 by Freed-Eisemann Radio Corporation, New York, this model NR-6 is a neutrodyne set that advertised no howling or hissing. This five-tube set originally sold for 0.00. The price did not include tubes or batteries and only 1300 were produced.
I bought this radio about 40 years ago and it has been on display ever since. It has all five 201A/301A tubes that were in the set when I acquired it. I have never powered it up and the tubes have not been tested.
The face panel is actually made of Formica, as stated in an ad from Radio Broadcast Advertisers ca. 1923. Original Freed-Eisemann controls are in excellent condition and move smoothly. The cabinet retains the original finish which shows slight discoloration from age and light wear. There is a blemish on the right side of the top. The interior is very clean and the broadcast log has
some entries penciled in, but is otherwise in excellent condition. The wiring diagram on the rear panel has fallen off and a few pieces of the diagram are missing. There are two screws missing from the bottom of the front panel. Extras include one spare 201A tube, two 1/4” plugs (one bent), and a copy of the schematic diagram. This magnificent vintage early radio has not been tested. As is, it is a coveted collector item for display with antique radios or similar vintage items.
    Measures approximately
