Description
Up for auction is this exceptional LARGE cardboard original vintage advertisement for Cook's Goldblume Beer circa 1940s-1950s. It comes from the private collection/storage of a member of the Hulman family (who owned the company, along with many other businesses in the 20th century). This has been in storage for a VERY long time. Decades. Many amazing things came out of that storage, some of it had even been stored since the beginning of the 20th century! It is for sure no later than 1950s, but could possibly be from the 1940s. It is in excellent condition, & has no damage or problem areas. It is vibrant with color and has no distracting marks. Around the edges, there is very slight age discoloration which if this ends up being framed (which I hope the permanent owner DOES), that would be not visible at all with frame and matting. However, with that being said, it is not distracting when unframed either. It is a beautiful sign. There are a couple small ink marks (such as directly above the "k" where the color ends), but again, are not noticeable. All the edges can be viewed if you look at the photos I have posted and zoom in.
Metal signs are one thing, but for a cardboard sign this old to be in great shape like this is exceptional, as cardboard signs make it far less often to this point looking this nice.
Measurements: Width of 44", height of 21"
