    Each week I bring you vintage early radio items. I have been collecting radios, phonographs, and music boxes for 47 years, and always have something interesting for sale. Here up for bid is this beautiful looking early 1920's Magnavox model R3-D horn speaker for early radio use. The metal neck and bell and in very good condition, with no dents. The driver uses a 6 volt battery to amplify the signal. The driver tests good. Both windings have continuity. The metal tag on the base is readable. The paper tag on the bottom is still readable. The horn measures 18.5 inches tall, and has a 14.25 inch bell. This is the early version, with on/off lever slide switch.  This speaker would go with almost any 1920's battery radio.
