    Description

Hand Painted Enameled Sterling Silver Thimble * President George H. W. Bush
by Peter Swingler * Hallmarked 2003
This tall sterling silver thimble has enameled panels set into the textured eagle designs on the silver sides. It was hand painted and signed by Peter Swingler and is part of his American Presidents Series. The painting on one side is a portrait of President George H.W. Bush. The other side has an enameled cartouche that says "G.H. Bush, 41st President, 1989-1993".
The band spells out "Presidents of America" and under the rim are the English sterling hallmarks for Birmingham 2003. I don't recognize the maker's mark. The condition is perfect and I'm sure it's never actually been used. It's about an American size 11-12 (17.3 mm diameter opening). The silver is heavy and solid, weighing 15.1 grams.
