This Kayak etching is an original hand-pulled etching with aquatint
by collected artist William Lee Holt.
This 6" x 9" print is a limited edition original etching (intaglio) with aquatint, from a zinc plate using oil-based etching inks.
This is an
ORIGINAL
print, not a
reproduction
. Unlike a reproduction (gicleé, offset, computer print-outs), this image was conceived and executed solely as an etching — it is not a "reproduction" of an artwork originally created in another medium, such as a painting or a drawing. Each print in the edition of 35 is subtly different, as each is inked and printed individually with great attention given to the quality of each print, and each print is considered an
original
work of art. Once the edition is printed, the matrix (the etching plate) is discarded.
Due to the success of sales through other venues, only a few of these prints remain available. Prints are sold in random order. Specific number requests are not available.
