Description
I recently went to see an elderly man, way out in the country, who was clearing some old radio gear out of his barn. The lot included this console cabinet, two chassis and a few shoe boxes of odds and ends. I do not know if the chassis went with the cabinet or not, but look like they might fit. There are no tubes with the group. The cabinet is pretty good. All the veneer except on the top, is salvageable, you can easily glue it back. The speaker grill is partly missing. There is a top, on hinges, but needs re-veneering on its top. Cannot find any ID. Even the bezel does not list a brand.Whomever had this stuff, back in the day, was typical of radio experiminenters. Both chassis have modifications and are mounted on wooden bases. The aluminum tops of the cans are included and were set aside while I was photographing the unit.
I prefer local pickup for the lot, 14150, but will take to a shipper if you prefer. If you live out of town, but are coming my way later, I will hold this for several weeks in my garage, if necessary. If you know who made the cabinet, let me know and I will add it to the listing.
The Larkin Co was located here in Buffalo, NY. I looked them up on line and found they did do a couple models of radios in the late 20s and 30s. I also found some Larkin radio identity parts in the lot.
