For sale or trade is modular sectional kayak that can be easily and quickly configured for 1-3 paddlers. Conversion takes less than 1-3 minutes.
You would need 2 pieces to use it as a solo kayak, 3 pieces as a (double) tandem and 4 pieces as a triple.
Each piece between weights 21 lbs (bow or stern sections) and 28 lbs (middle section weight more) and is about 4’4” in length, 25” in width and 8.5” in thickness. Pieces are locked together with ratchet buckles.
So for a triple seat kayak, this kayak will be 17’3” long, 25” wide, 8.5” thick and weights about 96 lbs (payload capacity is over 700 lbs). You can easily carry one or two pieces at a time though. And you don’t have to car-top all pieces.
Please refer to my attached photos.
All 4 pieces can fit inside my mid sized SUV and still leave driver seat and one passenger seat fully usable. Backup mirror is not blacked at all for my SUV, when store this way.
Or you can have driver + 2 passenger seats usable, store 3 pieces inside SUV and car top only one piece (again, for triple configuration; in the last photo attached, my finger was pointing to the piece on car’s roof). Only 1/3 of backup mirror is blocked that way, with my SUV. My mid sized SUV ‘s roof is wide enough for two pieces to car-top side by side.
With back seats of my Honda Civic folded (one side passenger seat usable), two pieces (as a solo kayak) can be stored inside the car. You may add a 3rd piece to car roof and move 2 people + a tandem kayak with one car that way.
In solo (2 piece) form, the kayak is about 9’8” long, 25” wide and 8.5” thick and weights 42 lbs. Weight capacity is 220 lbs.
And of course, you can store the pieces in your closet or even under some tall beds.
The kayak has a flat bottom and is very stable for beginner paddlers. I can easily stand up on its tandem form in water.
Pass this if you are over 6.1’ tall or want an advanced (fast and unstable) v hull design.
Hull material is high density thermoplastic, which can take lots of abuse.
I can include, for added cost, removable foam roof rack and tie down package to help you get this kayak home.
Brand / model name is Point 65 Falcon. New price today with tax is 52 with tax and shipping, if you buy from Point 65 (and they have the tandem section out of stock; you can buy from “snapkayaks.com” which has them in stock but shipping will cost more. I paid around 23 a few years ago. Yours for 80 now.
The bottom of bow and stern sections have some superficial scratches from normal use. One of the ratchet buckle has a partially broken handle, but the ratchet is still functional and locks/releases just fine.
I have DIY upgraded connectors to metal carabiners and heavy duty long screws for easier handling and accessories adding. Bungee cords (deck ropes) are included but not not shown in photos.
Shipping cost at least 0 from freight shipping company and there is possibility of shipping damage (and I don’t have the right box for it), which I do not want to deal with. I apologize, but please do not ask for shipping again.
