Old Town Predator PDL Kayak Rudder Steering Control Cable Tension Adjusters

Hello everyone! I designed these for my Old Town Predator PDL fishing kayak because I hated all the slop in my rudder steering control. They worked so well I decided make up a batch and offer them here on eBay. These are machined and assembled by me, right here in Las Vegas, Nevada USA! This listing is for one set (2) of custom made Rudder Cable Tension Adjusters designed for the 2018 and older Old Town Predator PDL Fishing Kayaks with the factory installed or optional aluminum rudders. The newer model of the Predator kayaks have plastic rudders with tension adjusters included on the rudder. These were designed to work with the older/original style Old Town aluminum rudders that do not have tension adjusters. With a little imagination, these may also be used in many other custom applications and certainly on other kayaks with sloppy rudders that use a 1/16" metal control cable/wire. When correctly installed and properly tensioned, these adjusters will minimize slop in your rudder steering control and you’ll instantly notice crisp, precise rudder control. The main adjuster body is lathe turned and machined from super tough black Delrin Acetal. All other components include marine grade 316 stainless steel link, lock nut and roll pin, 18-8 stainless steel washer, 5/16 machined hex bolt, and 4 zinc plated copper wire stops. These adjusters are made to last and designed to withstand harsh marine environments. Kit includes two adjusters and four copper wire stops (2 copper wire stops are to be used, 2 are extra). Original replacement rudder control cables can be purchased directly from Old Town if you accidentally cut your cable too short. CUTTING OF YOUR ORIGINAL RUDDER STEERING CONTROL CABLE IS NECESSARY AND IRREVERSIBLE!!! IT IS THE BUYERS AND USERS RESPONSIBILITY TO INSTALL THESE ADJUSTERS CORRECTLY. IMPROPERLY INSTALLED ADJUSTERS WILL CAUSE LOSS OF RUDDER STEERING CONTROL.
BEFORE CUTTING YOUR RUDDER CONTROL CABLE MAKE SURE YOUR RUDDER STEERING CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE CENTER (STRAIGHT) POSITION SO EQUAL AMOUNTS OF RUDDER CONTROL CABLE IS COMING OUT THE BACK OF YOUR KAYAK ON BOTH SIDES. MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE!!! THE  COPPER WIRE STOPS INCLUDED IN THIS KIT MUST BE MECHANICALLY CRIMPLED ONTO THE RUDDER CONTROL CABLE WITH A PROPER CRIMPING/SWAGING TOOL IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE CRIMP PRESSURE ONTO THE CONTROL CABLE.
