From 1955, this instrument was relacquered at some point a good while ago. Cosmetically it is a nice looking instrument but has some lacquer issues, some pitting and a few minor dents. Mechanically it is very good, the valves move nicely. All slides except the tuning slide move. The engraving is not as sharp as an original due to the relacquer, there is some minor bell "droop" and the brace closest to the bell is slightly pushed into the bell tubing. Also a minor crease in the bell. Please refer to the pictures, more are available on request.
The the instrument responds very well with a beautiful cornet sound. If you don't mind the stuck tuning slide the instrument will play right out of the box with no other work necessary. This is a great opportunity to pick up a classic American instrument which plays as well as anything on the market.
