Pair GORHAM Sterling GOBLETS Aesthetic Engraved Birds Foliage c1873

Description

A matching pair of Gorham aesthetic sterling silver goblets with satin finished surfaces engraved with Japanese style motifs of birds and flowers surrounded by beading.  Marked lion, anchor, G, sterling and the date
letter for 1873.
Height 5 3/4". Total w
eight 14.7 troy oz.  The interior of each goblet has a light gold wash.  They are in very good condition.  There is a tiny ding on one of the feet.  A similar pair of these goblets together with a matching water pitcher is pictured on page 72 of Charles Carpenter's book Gorham Silver.
