Each week I bring you vintage early radio items. I have been collecting radios, phonographs, and music boxes for 47 years, and always have something interesting for sale. Here up for bid is this sweet looking circa 1937 Westinghouse model WR-217 radio receiver. This is called the "Serenader". The wood case is solid, and the original finish looks very good. The clear dial plastic has a chip on the left side(see photo). The chassis has been restored at one time. The radio plays and gets stations when a long antenna wire is used. The radio measures 14.5 inches long, 8.5 inches tall, and 6.5 inches deep. Buyer pays shipping to 48 states. Overseas buyer pays shipping.
