Description
Local pickup only! No shipping.Featured in this auction, is a circa 1928 Brunswick Panatrope (with RCA Radiola 17 chassis). This is a very early all electric radio-phonograph combination. The cabinet is clean and solid with no veneer issues. It is an odd size cabinet, and the legs do not appear to have been shortened. It stands 39.5" high with the lid down. It is 23.75" wide, and 22" deep. It may have some light marks and scratches, but presents very well for being 90+ years old! The radio powers up but does not pass signal either from the phono or radio. Radio tuning condenser is seized, and my understanding is that this is not an uncommon problem with the Radiola 17. The tubes have been tested and are good. I can also provide an extra set of tubes. This is a seven tube radio. Type 80 rectifier, four type 26, one 27, and a 71A. Phono spins, and the induction motor runs smooth and quiet. The cartridge probably needs new rubber gasket material. Given the very clean cosmetic condition of the cabinet, this is a perfect candidate for restoration. This is being offered for local pick up only, but if the high bidder needs to travel a good distance to pick it up, I can hold the radio for several weeks while arrangements are made, provided it is paid for in advance. If the high bidder wishes to have this picked up and shipped, he\she must make all arrangements with the carrier of their choice. See my other listings for a 1930 Panatrope.
